BPSC Re-Exam Guidelines: Important Details for Candidates"

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to conduct the re-exam for the 70th Combined Preliminary Examination on January 4, amidst controversy surrounding the initial exam. The re-exam will take place across 22 centers in the state, including the Bapu Parishad exam center in Patna. To maintain the integrity of the examination, the commission has announced strict guidelines, prohibiting candidates from leaving the exam center once they enter.¹

Candidates are required to carry their admit cards, a valid photo ID, and passport-sized photographs to the exam center. The admit card, which was released on December 6, 2024, contains essential details such as the candidate's name, roll number, exam date, and exam center address. It's crucial for candidates to verify these details for accuracy and contact the BPSC helpdesk in case of discrepancies.

The exam will be conducted in a secure environment, with strict prohibitions on items like mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and study materials. Candidates are advised to reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time and follow COVID-19 protocols if applicable. The commission has also emphasized the importance of retaining the admit card for future stages of the selection process.

The BPSC 70th Re-Exam Guidelines outline the exam pattern, syllabus, and selection process. The preliminary exam will consist of a single paper with 150 marks, covering general studies. The mains exam will comprise four papers, including general Hindi and general studies. The interview will carry 120 marks. Candidates can refer to the official BPSC website for detailed information on the exam pattern and syllabus.²

In light of the controversy surrounding the initial exam, the commission has taken measures to ensure the fairness and transparency of the re-exam. Candidates are advised to stay updated with the latest notifications and instructions from the commission. With the re-exam scheduled to take place on January 4, candidates are gearing up to appear for the exam, and the commission is working to ensure a smooth and secure examination process.³
